Best 2013 Super Bowl XLVII Blackout Tweets

For 35 minutes, when half the stadium at the Super Dome sat in darkness (or at least basked in the glow from fans’ mobile devices…) there were tweets posted and retweeted around the world.  Here are the ones that stood out the most to me, mostly from the social media departments of companies that were online and ready to go:

The Australian Football League (@AFL) empathizes with @NFL when the blackout occured to them in 1996:

The Smithsonian Air and Space Museum remembers the blackout during the Apollo 12 launch:

Buffalo Wild Wings (who already filmed a ) said they only turned off the lights because they weren’t ready for the season to end:

Walgreens reminded us that they are ready with supplies in case of an emergency:

Best Buy offered technical support from the Geek Squad:

Lowe’s offered backup generators:

One of my favorites was a very “personal” dig from Audi to Mercedes (as in the Mercedes Super Dome) to send over LEDs (like the controversial copying of Audi’s original LED lights…):
