FYI, you cannot capture how awesome Proof Canteen is in a photo. Or a series of photos. I saw several professionally taken photographs before the privilege of eating at Proof Canteen in Scottsdale, Arizona. I was extremely excited based on the amazing things (see accolades below) I’d heard but even then was not fully prepared for the breathtaking views and incredibly tasting food at Proof.
Located on the property of the Four Seasons Troon North Scottsdale, just the drive up the Sonoran Desert is unexpected and beautiful. Although higher in the dessert, the drive was well worth it to come in from Scottsdale, AZ, as we left we watched the sun getting lower against the mountains.

The speakeasy bar at Proof features no less than 50 beers, 50 wines and 50 small batch and craft distilled spirits all from the 50 states.
When you’re in the area, you also want to make sure you check out their latest events calendar as well. They are always doing events that any foodie would be excited to attend, whether a hotel guest or local Scottsdale resident.
We were excited to be there celebrating the two and a half year journey that my husband just completed at Thunderbird University (that we all sacrificed for.) Not only were we there to cheer him on as he accepted his diploma but we also invited his parents and sister. As we walked up to the restaurant, on the red clay roads, we oohed and ahhed over the beautiful dessert landscapes, trying to identify different cacti we learned about on an earlier walk. The hotel rooms are scattered along the room and we would definitely love to come back to check those out as well.
Indoor and outdoor seating abounded and I don’t think there was a bad table in the house. I loved the decorations that were a great mix of vintage comfort. I am sure a lot of romantic dates start on the patio seating that overlooked the mountains because we watched the sun set behind them and were struck by the beauty and quiet.
My daughter, 10 at the time, really enjoyed the menu offerings, both to eat and to do. There was a scavenger hunt for her to play around with while she waited for her dinner. There was also a lot of DELICIOUS offerings on the dessert menu — you’ll want to save room!
